Does the MacBook Aluminium lower the performance while running on battery only? I got 2914 on Geekbench while on battery power and 2918 with the AC plugged in.

Yes, the same thing happens when you pull out the battery and run it just on AC. At peak performance the chip draws power from both battery and ac at the same time.

I think that's why when I simply slide my mouse across the dock, it's slower when in Battery only mode.

Does this apply?

It shouldn't make a huge difference in day to day things. It really only shows up in benchmarking and processor intensive apps like when working with video or photoshop.

I haven't noticed anything when playing COD4 without AC.

I play that game without AC to drain the battery. :p

It'll automatically scale to the level of performance required when on battery. 4 points out of 2918 just shows that it'll scale up to full performance when needed on battery.
