I originally posted in the imac section.Thought I would try this as it may be more appropiate as a newbie.I have the option of buying an early 2006 imac.(core duo 1.83 and super drive etc.) I would like to know how well these machines cope with typical household voltage fluctuations. That is for example during the evening when all and sundry are returning to there homes and cooking and heating appliances are being switched on and off. This may sound rather vague, but I had an earlier experience some years ago with an imac, with fried mainboard (dome base), which according to the apple tech. was caused by the power supply to my property being unstable.BTW this particular imac was only in use for three days.
I have since been using a windows machine and never had any problems.I want to use apple computers again.I used to own a 2001 imac running 9.2.

Thanks to anyone who can put my mind at rest so that I can go ahead with the purchase.
