As with many other iphone owners, the epic search for just the right case can be something that annoys to no end. It's too big, too thin, doesn't protect this, covers that too much, etc. It really depends on what you are looking for ultimately, style or protection, comfort or functionality and so on. I am relatively new to the case word if you will, but I have slipped open a few different types at the apple store in my day, and finally...
The Power Support Air Jacket Set.
The case itself only protects the back and some side features of the iphone. You will get a full cover on the back and sides, with holes for your volume rocker and silent switch. The top and bottom are rather exposed, leaving much open...yet providing great feel and functionality for headphones and the wake button.
More on the case: "Air Jacket" is an appropriate name for this case. It is made of what seems to be quality plastic, benable...but not flimsy like the flick case if you will. It is hard enough to protect to a certain degree. It fits snug on the phone, and almost too snug as you may see some pressure marks show up on the back. Ultimately they were not a huge deal to me, but after I placed 1 clear circular sticker (provided with the set), they were gone.
If you are looking for front protection, you get that as well. I couldn't make up my mind between the power support crystal front or the anti glare. Both have great features, and both are optional in my mind. However, with the set I purchase...you get both! So why not give them a whirl. The crystal is very clear, works well and looks great. It has been said that this will no protect THAT well against stratches...but hey, its better than nothing. The anti glare gives a bit of a foggy look to the screen and takes away from its natural beauty. It sure is nice to not have to worry much about finger prints, but it just was not for me. Overall, either one or neither will do. The real jewel here is the backing.
I purchased the clear set, and it shows off my black Iphone very well. You can still appreciate the design of the phone, while at the same time I feel comfortable setting my phone on a desk and not worrying about a thing. Slight drops can be withstood by this case, but anything major and it's a guessing game. Regardless, it feels GREAT in the hand...easy to hold and very comfortable to operate.
Previously I had a very large case, all black and the button slid off. It protects very well, I could drop it with no problem. In reality, I don't plan to be dropping my very expensive iphone anytime soon...do you? In my mind in came down to this. If I buy a Ferrari, am I going to throw a big black car bra on it, cover up many of the reasons I purchased the car, and not enjoy it? I think not.
Surely I do not want to live with scratches, and perhaps parts of my phone are still exposed. However, with the power support case...I feel like I get style with some protection...enough for my piece of mind.
At $35 its a bit pricey, but SO worth it. I am very glad I made this purchase. If anyone has any questions on it, throw them my way.
