I travel in a small RV and use 2 MacBooks with 115V AC from an inverter. How would I estimate the power usage for an open MacBook. I'm not sure of the current (I, amps) to calculate.

60 W / 120 VAC = 0.5 A

At least the power adapter states 60 Watts. I thought it was 65.

Edit: It says 1.5 A on the power adapter that I have. Did you take a look at yours?

The adaptor can provide UP TO 60W, but I checked mine with a power meter, and when its not charging, and the cpu is idling (i.e. web browsinf, word processing etc) it only uses 12W

Power (Watts) Operating MacBook

Thanks for the prompt reply. Adapter does say 60 Watts but appreciate the measurement @ 15 watts. Looks like no worry with it drawing down my RV battery with extended use while the RV is not plugged in to 115V.
