Left the house at 8am, watch charged.

Had to power off my phones before entering court at 9:30am.

Watch stayed powered on.

At 11:15 am, received the “low power” warning on my watch.

I reset and re-paired as described in that thread suggested by @smr.

Also, a caveat to what I wrote above:
I think it's possible that the above extreme battery problem was caused by my new S5 watch not being situated correctly on the stand overnight.
i.e. It's possible the battery was low when I walked out in the morning

I usually charge my gold stainless with leather strap completly hanging behind a vertical charging rest.

With current sport strap I will not fully un-loop it; that would take too long. So it sits off angle a bit on my normal charger

I feel like I always have a day, either after a software update, or getting a new watch, where the battery acts like yours, just completely drains for no reason. Usually it corrects itself by the next day. But I know my series 4 did the same thing after a software update, think the 5.3.1.

If you've not charged it go to Settings->General->Usage and you can see the time since last full charge.

I've charged it already, but thanks a bunch for the suggestion; I'll remember that for next time.
