Just bought them yesterday as my "backup and gym earphone". I use a custom made 6 driver Westone high end earphone for my listening which costs 1200 Euros. I bought the powerbeats to wear while running but after listening to them, I can't believe they sound as good as my Westone's. The only issue is the isolation they provide, which is definitely less than the Westones which are custom molded to fit my ear perfectly. Also after a while, like each universal IEM, the beats can be uncomfortable inside my ear.

But their sound quality is spectacular. It's not bass heavy at all, which was the reason I always avoided Beats headphones like the plague. It's pretty flat with their standard eartips. If I use Comply eartips they can sound a bit more muffled but that's always the case with foam eartips. So far, I don't see a reason why I should use my Westones other than for more comfort and isolation in noisy environments. As far as sound quality goes, Apple delivered.
