I took some pictures this Sunday afternoon for our Mac friends who can't get close to one of these pieces of sexy machinery.

Apparently the demo machine is gone somewhere, but the window display unit remains. It was off at the time I took this shot, but seemed to draw a lot of interest.

#1: Lots of Sunday activity at the Palo Alto Apple Store

One of the sales women reiterated they will start shipping end of month as production starts and didn't know where the demo went.

In terms of size, I remember at Macworld, after playing with them, the Tibooks looked small. It is easy to get used to the size.

The ad says "Now you see it...17" " (PB open), then "Now you don't...1" " (PB closed)

Great work, nanosound! :)

While I wait for the real thing, I can always go back to the pictures and just get a reminder of what it's gonna feel like some day.

Sounds good this end-of-month-thing, hope they dont mean march

*waiting*

Thanks.

I bet the reason they had to wash the windows down was all the drool on them.

A guestion, where is this Palo Alto store?
You see I'm from Sweden, so I'm not familiar with american apple-stores ;)

It's a stone's throw from Stanford University and Steve Jobs' home town. I've run into him around here in the past.

the apple store in short hills, nj has one. its one from macworld so u cant play with it. they dont have it on display but if u ask about it they will bring it out and let u upen it up and whatnot, although u cant turn it on. its big, but its so thin.. i was impressed. it also didnt feel heavy.. maybe because im used to picking up my brothers 11 lb. toshiba

I end up going to my local apple store every couple days now just to see if there is a demo model out that i can fiddle with...

...too bad theres no chance of me getting one...

...damn $3299...

I checked out Apple store at the Grove, in Los Angeles this weekend and they also had the 17' Powerbook. What a beauty!! Now i'm glad I ordered mine right after the MWSF. I still have to wait on or before 26 of March for shipment. I must admit, it did make the Titanium look smaller.
