Does anyone know what the % of the original battery life a powerbook battery must be at before Apple will replace it under Applecare?

Battery is considered a "consumable," that said, batteries are only covered by initial one year warranty unless they are blatantly defective. There is no set % of original battery life to warrant a replacement, depends on battery age and cycles used etc.

Also check if your powerbook is one of those covered under battery re-call over at apple/support.
