Powerbook display problems

All of the sudden today when I woke my pbook up the screen had a horizontal line across it, and below that there is doubling and tripling of the screen image going on. Rebooting didn't accomplish anything and when I take a screenshot it doesn't show up there.
I have a 12" Powerbook G4, running os 10.4.11.

Any ideas of how to fix this?

Try resetting the PRAM or the PMU. Sometimes it helps

I reset the PRam and no difference after words. What exactly do I lose if I reset the PMU?

The clock settings may be reset to a default date on some models.

Do you have another display you can hook up to it? Just to see if it's your display or your logic board. Do you still have apple care for it? If so maybe a trip there could help even if you don't have AC sometimes they can tell what is bad..
