Powerbook fan

i now that the powerbooks run decently hot but i was wondering how effective and loud the fans are like are they always on but quiet or come on loud for a few seconds and then turn off just wondering because the laptop i have now has the loudest fan on earth

Just got a 1.33Ghz Powerbook 15". Nice machine!! I am surprised how hot this laptop gets. As for the fans, I dont think its anything noticeable unless you are listening for it. Having said that, I have got used to a quicksilver windtunnel. All in all, I cant see how the fan noise would disturb you. Mine only comes on when I play intensive 3d games. Only had it a couple of weeks though.

I've got the 12-inch one, and its pretty silent, the fans doesn't kick often in either.

my 15in 1.5ghz machine runs pretty hot (especially when rendering in FCP), but I never really hear the fans, unless I put my ear real close to where the fans are located.

Having said that, I have got used to a quicksilver windtunnel.

Jebus, is that true or what? My Qwoosh it even louder now that I've added a new GPU with a fan, and a dual processor upgrade with a humongous fan. It's like a turbine engine.

Yeah, my 15" PB gets pretty warm but I never hear the fans at all.

Gets hot - but very quiet...

can only think of one occasion that I actually noticed the fan!

Great machine - it made me switch and glad I did!
