I got my new 15" PB G4 last weekend. No dead pixels, good battery... but a noisy hard drive.

Whenever the HD accesses, it is accompanied with a high whirring buzz. It's not VERY loud, but in a very quiet space it get extremely annoying.

I have a second 15" PB G4 borrowed from work as a comparison and there is no such sound.

The question is what should I do with my own new Powerbook? Send it off to be repaired immediately (or demand a new one, which is possible thanks to our law regarding mail orders)?

With best regards,

Call Apple, get them to replace the drive. I wouldn't ask for replacement, you might get one with a sh*t screen, and you don't want that ;)
