I'm not sure this is the right place, but i couldn't find a sub forum for older Macs. I hope mods will move the thread if needed.

I have a PowerBook G4 and the AC adapter won't work. I had this issue for a while now, but usually if I unplug it from mains for 60 seconds and reset the adapter, it works again. Yesterday it definitely stopped working, and nothing helps anymore. I tried unplugging it from mains, resetting the PMU, cleaned the connectors, checked cable for live wires, but no avail. Is there anything else that can be done before I take it for repair?

Does the adapter have frayed cabling anywhere? Have you tried moving the adapter plug around some when it's plugged in?

Do you have access to another adapter to try? It sounds like your AC adapter has died. You might have to get a new AC adapter.
