So a customer had brought this in saying he had brought it to the apple store and that the hard drive needed to be replaced. So i ordered a new hard drive for it booted it up went to try and use CCC to clone it but the laptop has 2 usb ports one on each side. All the IDE adapters i have dont have external power so they need the usb to do it. Which the laptop isnt powerful enough to do.

Fast forward, i took the hard drive out. Plugged it into my laptop and plugged in the new hard drive. Finished doing a CCC clone and went to install the new drive back into the laptop. Wont boot now, folder with a ?. Try the old hard drive, same problem.

Plugged the old drive back into my laptop and booted to it from the usb, boots fine.

powerbook doesnt see any hard drives, ive booted to my retail leopard disk and disk utility doesnt show any hard drives.

TLDR: took hard drive out of working powerbook to image to new drive, now powerbook wont detect any hard drives.

You've tried resetting the P-RAM?

Hold Command-Option-P-R at boot until you hear the mac chime 2 times or more.
This is usually the cause when a new hard drive is inserted.
