I am having the hard drive replaced on my powerbook, and do not have the recovery discs that came with it. Does anyone know if I will be able to buy leopard for my computer, or if I have to find the operating system it originally came with?

Thanks

Depends--if it's faster than Leopard's minimum requirements--867MHz, I think--then yes, Leopard will install, and is probably a good option. You certainly won't need the original discs.

Even if it won't run Leopard, you can still get a copy of Tiger (also probably cheaper than Leopard), which will work on any G4 PowerBook, and I assume is an upgrade from whatever came on it.
