Hey there
I want to ask if it’s possible to upgrade my powerbook G4 15inch with the backlight keyboard.

would be nice if the Keyboard is with light at the night!

It would be so difficult as to approach “impossible”. I assume you have a Titanium PowerBook? It’s really not going to work. The keys are not translucent, so even if you could rig lighting somehow (no idea how), the keys would not light up.

Hmm, I thought all of the 15" aluminum powerbook g4s post 2003 had back lit keyboards? Maybe yours is turned off? Did you try F9 & F10 to adjust illumination or perhaps F8 was hit to turn it off? Also it can be turned off/on in System preferences under "keyboard & mouse".

Also, Labtick is an app that installs manual control of kb brightness as a mouse over slider tool in the menubar. Might give that a try. IIRC Labtick does disable the ALS sensors so be aware of that.

If none of that works, take a look at the ALS sensor connectors and see if they have come loose - could also be a hardware issue like that. The ALS are located under the speaker grills.

Good luck.

Some post-2003 15-inch did not come with backlit keyboards, it was a custom order.
The A1046 (PowerBook5,2) and the A1095 (PowerBook5,4) are the 15-inch models that did not come standard with backlit keyboards.
The keyboard is different, the top case is different, and non-backlit models don't have the light sensors that control the keyboard backlight.
So, it's possible to upgrade to backlit keyboard, but probably very difficult to find all the parts now.
Would be easier to find a backlit model for sale...

Yeah I have the Powerbook 5,4 model.
i will buy an light Sensor. I found one one eBay. Is this the right?

Your link shows a left sensor. It appears to be the correct part. But, there are two different sensors. You also need the right sensor, which is Apple's part number 922-5996. That will probably also be on eBay.
You also need a keyboard - part number 922-6105
And, the top case... - part number is 922-6013
I think that is all you need. Good luck finding all the parts. (Viel Glück alles zu finden)
