first off, thanks for you guys' advice in advance.

i have this brand new tibook 1 GHz that i took on a trip recently. when i got back on saturday, i noticed, to my great annoyance, that there was what appeared to be a dead pixel on the screen, toward the upper right, but still out in the open. then i noticed another one, not quite mirrored on the right side of the monitor. i noticed them because i was working in photoshop and it really distracted me as i was working on an image. it's also painfully obvious whenever i jave any white space over it. I was wrong, however, that the 2 were dead pixels. i turned my backlight off (ie brightness all the way down), and noticed the minutest of scratches in the very middle of where the pixels obviously were, and they were blocking the light from coming through the pixel right. it's really annoying me, and i am wondering if any of those LCD cleaners you can get will likely solve this. i'd read that they put some kind of protective coating on the LCD, but i wasn't sure if that was BS or not. barring that, do you think that a warranty would cover some kind of repair under applecare, as, i did nothing to scratch the screen? i mean, i can't imagine where these 2 "scratches" are from. it's not from rubbing. they are exactly over the pixels, not the "shape" of a scratch at all. the only thing i can think of is that they may be from the keyboard touching the LCD, which i have noticed happens when i carry the laptop places.

anyone have this problem, or any advice?
