Almost every time I wake my PowerBook G4 up from sleep, the trackpad and keyboard stop working and I have to restart the computer. However, the external USB mouse works fine. Is there anyway to fix this?

Have you taken a look at System Preferences > Trackpad/Touchpad/Mouse, if there is an option to disable it while an external mouse is connected?

Btw, which exact Mac OS X version do you have on your PB?

No, that option is not checked. They only stop responding after the computer has been asleep, especially for a few hours.

I am running 10.4.11
