As the title says, my PowerBook G4, which I was given second hand so is probably quite old will not charge up. It works fine on mains and the light on the cable connetion to the machine is green but the charge indicator remains stubbornly at 0 per cent.
Any suggestions?
I'm not overly technical and the machine did not come with a manual

Your battery likely needs to be replaced. Check its life by clicking on the  menu, and selecting "About This Mac." Then click "more info..." and navigate to the "Power" section. What is the condition of the battery? What is the full charge capacity? How many cycles has the battery gone through?

Sounds like it is time for a new battery. Possibly ask the person who gave it to you, if or when the battery was ever replaced. They are pretty cheap and easily replaced. Instructions.

Powerbook G4 will not charge

I thought it may be the battery. Battery info on the menu is obviously wrong (eg it says Cycle Count = 0, which I know is wrong, so I suspect it is also wrong when it says Battery Condition = Good. Also says Voltage is (mV) 5797.
I'll try a new battery before I give up on it.
