I've got a powerbook g4 like in the pic below. You can see two white fuses f4 and f5, on the middle right, directly to the left of the daughter board connector. F5 has blown.

* Under normal conditions with f5 blown the powerbook will boot off battery OR off power adapter. However it will not charge.
* If I bridge f5 the power adapter trips off (dies) any time I plug it in.
* battery in this powerbook NEVER induces the charging circuit to pop on.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what could be wrong over here?

I really doubt you're going to be able to fix this.

you could try finding a logic board for you PB on ebay and replacing the fuse (or swapping the whole logic board out)

It might be time to look at a replacement computer though.
