I came across this page when I was drooling over the new 17" powerbook, I dont believe it, but you never know......

Besides the G5 blah, I don't think anyone's going to make a laptop with all the silvery/chrome stuff, just imagine the fingerprints, ugh.

i highly doubt apple would release a computer in a precious metal, especially considering the tarnish but it's a nice concept.

it would weigh a lot more.

plus, this was clearly done before the 17" was released -- they would probably have a G4 that sized, and use it for promotion.

like i said, nice idea. the silver running across gaps in the keys is quite a touch, but apple wouldn't release a laptop with a keyboard trapped by the case...

I hate to say it: what a dumb looking picture...

Wow, I'm so sorry for such an awful post. This was my first time posting to the macrumors site; I didn't know that everyone was so touchy wih what gets posted. Just thought you guys could have some fun with this. Didn't mean to waste your bandwidth.

I don't think anyone was getting touchy... just hardcore humor. Its a fake, a bad fake and a lot of users feel the need to flame the guy for it. Calling his house, harassing him... even notifying apple legal. That is funny. No one was aiming it at you. Better luck next time.

Sounds like theyre promissing that when any "G5" actually comes out, they will send you one.... after they have been holding your money for a long time.
What the question should be is what do they consider a G5? The next G4's? The 970? No one knows...
