Kind of following up on my last question about my 15" Ti Powerbook battery. I'm looking to upgrade different components on the PowerBook, particularly the Hard Drive and I'm trying to get a DVD-RW drive in there too, 'cause it only came with a regular DVD/CD-ROM drive.

I wanna upgrade the HD to a 7200rpm one, but the cheapest I'm finding is this 40GB Hitachi at $113. I'd prefer a smaller, cheaper drive, like a 20GB or even a 10GB, because I wanna hook up my 200GB drive as an external firewire drive and keep MP3's and such on there. I just want this thing to be speedy on its own.

I also want to put in a DVD-RW drive. They make some 8x ones that fit slim-fit drives like the PowerBooks for about $120, but I'm not sure about the size. Some pages like OWC sell drives they claim are made to fit PowerBook bays, but they're just standard laptop drives. I'm pretty sure I could buy a regular one and get it to fit in here. I just don't know if it would be compatible, ya know? I mean, the hardware they sell works for both Mac and PC, only the software is different, so if I got just a regular DVD-RW drive for PC laptops, could it work in the PB?

Anybody know?

Thanks ahead of time!
