I was wondering what hard drive I should upgrade a friends Titnium G4 400mhz powerbook to? He wants something around 40 or 60 gigs. He gave me 100 dollars to buy it with. He also doesn't really care about the rpms or the cache size.

Thanks,

Merf

4200 RPM, 8MB cache. If you can get a 60GB then get it. Otherwise, a 40GB might be your only choice.

Duff-Man says....you'd be lucky to find a 60GB from a reputable place for $100 - they seem to mostly be in the $135-150 range still....but yoiu can get a decent 40GB for $100 or less easily... Otherworld is just the first place I looked (and they are a good place to buy from.....oh yeah!

get higher rpm hard drive for your Tibook 400mhz

I upgraded my titanium 400mhz from its 10gb hd at 4200rpms to a 40gb at 5400 rpms. Very quiet, much speedier especially with 768mbs of ram.
