I finally have some funds to fix my poor baby (Rev. B 12" Powerbook). It sadly died a long time ago from a failed HD, and now I am ready to fix her up so she can meet my G5.
I have narrowed my decision down to a Samsung Spinpoint (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822152032) and the Hitachi Travelstar (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822146047). I am leaning towards the Spinpoint, more bang for buck, and I trust Samsung (have bought from them for years, so far so good).
I was looking at the Western Digital Scorpios, but read that they have a clicking problem when installed in apple computers, and it has been remedied with an update on the PC but no go on the Mac.
Just some thoughts and decisions before I take the plunge with the Spinpoint. I hear they are really quiet too.
I will mainly be using this as a mobile solution for photography, so I am guessing that more HD space is better...
Thanks
(yay, apple icon!)
