Powerbook heat, fan question

Hi people,
Just wondering, since I have my new 15" PowerBook 3/4 weeks now, what the story with the fan is! I only ask cause I've read so much on heat issues and fan noise etc here on the forums, and the fact that laptop fans I've come across in the Dell/HP/... variety are so intense you could use them as a hairdryer.
Anyway, in all the time I've had my new machine, the fan has never come on- at least I don't think it has. I downloaded ThermographX and kept an eye on it last night, as I watched a DVD. The CPU temp reached 57C and the Pwr supply temp peaked at 61C, but still no sign of a fan coming on. Is this a problem or has it just not gotten hot enough to trigger the fan?


Edit: Sorry, those peak temps in Farenheit are 134 degrees for the CPU and 141 degrees for the Power supply. The Battery was the coolest, at 105 degrees.
 
The fan will come on and you will hear it, but it is not as loud as some people on these lists make it seem. You may not hear it if you are playing a DVD - the DVD drive seems to be way noiser than the fan. I think it comes on when the processor reaches something like 145 or 148 degrees F. It has only happened to me twice, I've owned mine for about 5 weeks.
 
Hot- book

Same here, i have only heard , what i think it was the fan turn onn like once, in like 2 weeks of ownership My power book getts pretty darn hot ! specialy behind the F1....f12 keys next to the monitors. Sometimes its so hot that its hard for my fingers to touch it. I dont get burns on my finger but it getts pretty intense !

I have a 15 inch pb 1.33 mhz.

hey, where can i get ThermographX ?
