I'm in desperate need of a Mac Pro, but I'm holding out for an update so what can I do in the meantime to maximize the performance of my PowerBook? My primary use is Photoshop CS3. I work with a lot of RAW images.

Here are the stats:
15" PowerBook G4
1.25 GHz PowerPC G4
1 GB RAM
80GB 4200rpm HD
ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 64mb vram
OS X 10.4.11

Ok, obviously the first thing to do is max the RAM. That's only 2 GB, though so I assume I need a scratch disk. What is the best option for this? Any other suggestions for improving performance?
