how easy is it to install new memory......when i open up activity monitor, it says i have about 5mb of free space which i think is pretty slim.......i have 512 now....should i upgrade to 1gb? if so, wheres the cheapest place to get it .....i have a 15inch alum pbook..ebay has it at about 144

I would highly recommend upgrading to at least 1GB of RAM. You should notice a nice improvement in your PowerBook's speed/performance.
 
I would go with Crucial.

Assuming you have the latest PowerBook here are the chips you may buy [from them] http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?model=PowerBook+G4+1.5GHz+(15-inch+Display)&tabid=AM

I've had nothing but experiences with them and have only heard good things with them. You can't really guarntee that the RAM off eBay is positively 100% going to work even though it says it works with the machine. Crucial tests them.

well its samsung....its not like "bobs basement memory" theyre a pretty reputible company
