I am thinking of getting a powerbook G4 1000 but I noticed that the Apple store has a refurbished Powerbook G4 867 with everything else the same. The price is almost $500.00 cheaper and wonder if the G4 1000 is worth the difference? Anyone have any opinions, or suggestions?

Thanks,
Alan Young

the graphics card in the new one is much better and it has mini-DVI so you can hook up to an external LCD without converter, the 867 has VGA output, plus the second generation runs cooler I am told

Isn't one the Ti 867 and the other the Aluminum 1GHz machine?

Of course there are those who thought the flaking paint and cracking hinges were a pain on the Ti.
