Didn't see anything about it on MacRumors, and the reports are from pretty low-key news sources, mainly around Australia and NZ.

But tl;dr Apple filed for a new trademark under "PowerBook"
No idea what this means but a few news sources are suggesting that the PowerBook is making a return.
I'm assuming it's just to protect the existing brand

could be them protecting their existing assets? hard to say, seems to be aligning their products based on their software as well tvOS > AppleTV, macOS > MacBook, watchOS > AppleWatch etc.
