Powerbook right speaker does NOT work properly

Hi,

after having to deal with the horizontal line issue in my 15" PB now I gotta another problem with the right speaker of my Mac. The things is that this speak volumes descreases and increases randomly while the songs are playing and the same happens with some movies. Sometimes it is stable for a time but it the problems appears again. It's speaker problem because I tried with the headphones and it sounds fine. This is my third issue with my 15" PB and it only has 4 months. :( ¿Anyone has the same problem? ¿Any solution? I am so upset and dissapointed...

some files or settings in your current account might be corrupt or set to an incorrect value. therefore making a new account and trying the speakers at their default setting at the file and control level is a logical step in in the process.

As I thought the problem persist... Did I say that if I hear with the speakers it sounds Ok? This is my third problem with apple; first was the battery, then the screen and now this... I think I've hit the bad numbers somewhere...
 
Your problem does sound a little strange, but just something else to check that I have issues with.

Check that your sound output balance is equal (i.e.: outputs equal volume out of each speaker, left and right).

You can do this by going into "Apple Icon Menu (top left) >> System Preferences >> Click on "Sound" >> Click on "Output" tab >> Ensure the "Balance" is in the middle.

For some reason my PowerBook randomly moves itself to one side or the other, so I end up getting sound only out of one side, but moving the slider back to the middle solves the problem!...my friend on his PowerBook has also confirmed this issue with his.

As I say your problem sounds more complex than this, and doesn't quite fit the total symptoms, but it's always worth a try.

I trie to move the sound bar to left and right and if I leave all side left it sounds clearly louder than if it were in the right. This things does not happen if I am with the headphones. So I conclude that it must be speakers hardware problem. As soon as I reach home I'll do the PVRAM issue: what it that about? (I've read the apple document :p )
