PowerBook + TV

I have a PowerBook G4 (15" 1.33 GHz) and want to connect it to my TV so I can use it as a display. How is this possible? I have tried many times before but it totally confuses me. I think once I managed to get sound to get sound on the TV from my PB but I never got any further than that. I have the Apple S-Video and DVI adapters that came with my PB if that helps.

P.S. My TV is a Akai CTV CT-2862.

If you're using S-video then it should simply be a matter of attaching the adapter that came with it to a RCA connection to the TV. Video is usually the yellow one.

Once you've done that go into system prefs, displays and there should be a "detect display" button. Click it and the TV should display your PB. I'm not too sure about sound though.
