I have toast 5.0, how can i burn dvd-rw in this drive, or can i?

As of right now..you can't. This has been discussed extensively over in the MacNN forums here. It seems that the drive is capable of 2x DVD-R speeds, 16x CD-R write, 8x CD-RW, etc. It also seems to be a DVD-multi drive, so it should be able to burn DVD-RW and DVD-RAM as well. However, it seems that Apple modified the firmware to limit the capabilities. Someone is working on a firmware fix here.
