Hey all,

my powerbook won't go to sleep...the screen goes black for a second, and then it wakes back up again. I was on the phone wth applecare for a while today to no avail- we trashed prefs (energy saver) checked all network settings, rebuilt permissions, zapped pram etc. They're telling me to archive and install which is not the preferred thing to do (i have tons of plugins that will have to be reinstalled / reauthorized).

Any one know about this issue?

BTW- powerbook g4, 1.33 15", 1.25 g RAM, os 10.3.7

Trash the Powermanagement settings. Located in Hardrive -> Library -> Preferences -> SystemConfiguration and its named "com.apple.PowerManagement.plist". Delete it, then set your Power Management settings again.

Hi thanks for the response. We already tried that and it didn't help.

fixed...it was my new lacie CF card reader plugged into the hub on the back of my 23" display. apparently it will keep the computer awake unless plugged directly into a USB port on the unit itself.
