Powering Down Studio Display

Hello,

I just picked up my studio display and have it paired with my MacBook Air. Question:

Do I need to unplug the air every time I want to power off the display or will the air power down the studio display after noted power down time in settings?

My apologies for what may be a silly question, but this is my first time pairing a Mac with an external display.

From the Studio Display ”manual”:

The only way to turn off power completely is to unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Make sure the power cord is within easy reach so that you can unplug your Studio Display when you need to.
