Hello all.

After spending the past few days buying up parts, and assembling a Windows 98/Pentium 2 system. I figured I'd finally get my B&W up and running. This system has always given me weird issues with loading OS's, and I've never quite been able to get it to work properly. When it has worked, its been VERY slow. I definitely do not have the original installation for it, as I bought it second hand with no hard drive. I also do not have any OEM installation CDs.

I am able to get a gray screen about half the time, and the other half I get a gray screen with the typical "question mark". IE missing OS. I see there are plenty of OEM Mac OS 9.2.2 CDs on eBay, and I'd absolutely pay for one if I was able to guarantee it would work with my system. I'm also not sure if the DVD burner drive that's installed is original, or functional.

But I do have a functional iMac G3 Indigo that I can use to make new discs, and any other random firmware/software I may need.

I've watched tons of YouTube videos, and read through lots of very old forum posts and damaged outdated websites with no information that seems to help me with this issue.

Thanks!

Well mods you can disregard this, or delete it.

Or keep it up for the next guy lol.

Determined it to be a bad DVD drive, which I yanked from my Windows 98 system and a single bad stick of RAM.
