Hi, for the last 10 years I kept running a powermac g4 as file and backup server, has no graphical card so I access to the machine via ssh and remote desktop.
after having issues with iTunes and force closing some apps and even the remote desktop and considering restarting the machine and install linux or osX again from zero.
My question is how to approach the situation (no graphical card) to do the process as easy as possible. I have more HD to clone osX but I want a clean install if possible.

thanks.

I don't think you can run the os x installer headlessly. Either temporarily use a graphics card to do the install or move the drive to another machine, install and move it back.

You can't run the installer headlessly, but you can turn the Mac into the most expensive external drive with target disk mode, and install it through another mac that supports whatever you're aiming to install. You can even boot that other mac from that drive until you've got your vnc server set up, too. I mostly run my PMG5 headless, so I think about these things.
