Hi guys,

Quick question for you...
We have a PowerMac G4 867Mhz here at work which was working all fine and dandy up until the other day, but now it seems to be dead!
Basically, when we power it up, the white power led comes on for about 2 seconds, and then fades and goes out. At the same time, the power supply fan comes on, but then dies also.
The red led on the motherboard does not illuminate, and there is no chime at all.
Any ideas peeps?

Sounds like a dead motherboard, the only thing i can suggest is reseting the PRAM...

Also try and remove the PRAM battery for overnight put it back and try again...

You could also try and buy a new PRAM battery...

One last thing is remove the power supply and leave it unplugged for a few days and try it again,

Hope this helps,

Shadow

Cheers Shadow.

We've tried all those, so its not looking too good. We did try upgrading the RAM, and it was working fine, but then it just died.

We've pretty much resigned it to the grave now.
