I purchased a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse for this powermac G5 I received.

The wireless mouse works no problem.

The apple wireless keyboard, can not be located with the bluetooth. Makes no sense because the iPad 2 has no problem locating it and using it.

Any suggestions?

Which one did you buy? If it's the current Apple wireless keyboard, it requires 10.6.8 which is Intel-only. That would explain why you're having trouble with it.

Its a model A1314. 2009. I'm guessing this one won't work.

Anyone on these forums want to trade me for one that works with my G5?

????

???

Really? no one wants to trade a NEW wireless keyboard for an old one?

While there is a post like this, what is the newest Apple wireless mouse and wireless keyboard compatable with the Power Mac G5? And with Apple wired keyboards, will the newest one work with it?

I have a usb bluetooth connector, and the latest Apple keyboard (A1314) works fine with my G5 under 10.5.8.

Do you think this USB bluetooth connector is nessecary to make this wireless keyboard functional on my machine?

Before I axe this keyboard I'm curious to know if anyone else has this model keyboard working and functional on a G5? And also what it takes to make it functional?

Where is this market place? I didn't see it listed on the forums.

Will anyone trade this model for a A1016 ?

?

You sound so desperate, relax. I have a powermac running on 10.5.8with wireless keyboard connected to the airport extreme + bluetooth card. I have no issues other than if the battery on the wireless keyboard is low on the charge, it would be sluggish.

How much is the amount of battery charge left on your wireless keyboard?

I don't know for sure. My G5 did not have the bluetooth card installed, so I purchased a cheap USB connector from Iomega. All I can say is that the wireless keyboard was immediately detected and works fine for me.
