Whats up...this is my first post here looking for some help...

I am looking to upgrade the RAM on a

PowerMac G5 2.5 Quad

I am sort of confused on the ECC terms and things like that so I needed some specific answers.

I do music editing/recording/production on this computer so some advice on durable and trusty brands for this purpose would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance I appreciate the help.

Assuming it is the 2005 model, what you need is DDR2 533MHz PC4200 memory.

OWC is selling branded and non-branded PowerMac G5 memory:

Assuming I am right about your model, specifically:

For reliability stay away from the non-certified offers. Deal with OWC certified. For my part, I stick with the original Samsung RAM also offered at the site.
