PowerMac G5 Ship Date

I ordered a dual 2ghz PowerMac G5 the day they came out, and as many reported the estimated ship date said "On or before 9/02" despite the fact that Steve Jobs said August in the keynote address.

Well good news! It new says estimated ship date is "On or before 8/29"

Wow, imagine that - they're going to be a little earlier. Nice, but I'll believe it when I see it. Apple's track record with new hardware is not exactly stellar

Actually, if memory serves, Apple has usually beaten it's first forecasted ship times. The QS's were shipped early, the imac LCDs were a few days early and some of the gig pBooks shipped immediately. So I don't see Apple a bad track record for Apple shipping.

so maybe if they announce new PB's they will ship early too. of course when is early?
