Hi, I have a powermac g5 with a 1.6 GHz single core processor and I wanted to know if i could upgrade to the 2.5 GHz powerpc model or an intel processor on the same motherboard? Also What the most amount of memory it can support? 8 GB? 16 GB? DDR2/DDR3?

I don't know what to do with this as it's getting obsolete fast -.-

you cannot transplant an intel processor on a PPC logic board. advise is , if you wanted to have a PowerMac rather than a Mac Pro, sell the 1.6GHz PowerMac and go for a PowerMac G5 2.3GHz Dual Core.

upgrading the logicboard to intel is impossible(for intel you need a MacPro ) ,and upgrading the board with the 2.5ghz is equally impossible
and that particular logicboard can take max 4gb ram
333 MHz PC2700 DDR SDRAM
so upgrade the ram to 4 gb and off you go maybe try to get a better graphics card (various posts here to find about which graphic cards fit )
