Have dual 2.0 Powermac with 8 dim slots. 4 have 512MB sticks and the other 4 have 256MB chips for 3 gig total ram. Do these machines run better if all were equal ?? I'd like to upgrade the ram and was curious about performance running rame of equal or varying MB. Thanks

No, the only matching you have to do is in the pairs themselves. You don't have to match all 4 or 6 modules.

Obviously, all RAM in the machine must be PC3200 (400 MHz), the minimum spec.

Thanks
