Right...

As a forum regular, I do find these posts most useful. Thanks for taking the time to respond...sigh...

I use an IC slider and not digging the little bit of bulk that adds.... not to sure I would like adding that much more bulk to my iPhone just to put it on a pad to charge. Plugging it in really isn't that hard. Kinda a neat idea though.

i find it very convenient just being about to set it down to charge. i don't have to find the cable, or remove part of the case to use a dock.

i have the portable mat. it came with the powercube with 8 tips.

the iphone case's thickness is between the incase slider and power slider.

I agree with Uabcar, I did not see the original post on this charger, and I thank the OP for posting it. I may pick this up.

Eh, for $70 minimum ($40 for the case/receiver + $30 for the barebones charging mat), and considering I still have to hook up the iPhone to sync anyway, the cool factor just doesn't overcome the cost. Maybe it would be more worth it if it somehow enabled wireless syncing as well.

For a grand total of $140, it has saved me from the painstaking effort of having to physically attach the charger into the charging port of my iPhone. You talk about a convoluted process that has been completely avoided by the greatest iPhone accessory ever. Thank you Powermat.

/sarcasm

The mat looks very cool indeed as is the very idea of just placing your gadget onto the mat to charge it, but the cost of the kit and the unattractiveness of the iPhone case kill it for me.

Sorry, I'm out!

that thing is not worth spending money on..

i guess they can take advantage on people who dont understand what it really is.. lol there is your "wireless" charging..

the iphone/blackberry are wireless changing, the psp has to use the adapter so lol @ you

Actually, both the iPhone and the Blackberry need to be fitted with receivers before they charge 'wirelessly'.

As regards the iPhone the receiver is a rather unattractive case.

and not to mention those adapters each cost about $40

I got the portable version and I love it. I only need one cable running to the wall for all my electronics.

Agreed, wireless syncing is the only thing that can save this concept.

Or if Apple buy the company and incorporate the technology into a future product - no ugly case on your iPhone/tablet/iPod, the function of the mat maybe incorporated into a computer - sit your iPhone near your MBP/iMac for wireless charging (and possibly syncing). Maintain wired options for people without mac hardware.

I'm certain Apple must have considered this....

Or you could grab an apple dock and power brick and then just plunk the phone into the dock. :)
