Ah... the powermate, such a useful little doer of... well... anyways, when i log in as a different user, my powermate ceases to function... i think it has something to do with my soundsticks (usb audio) what do you think???

It's simply a permissions problem. Does the powermate require you to install any sort of software? If so you probably need to install it for the different user. OSX is a true multi-user system if the prefs and installation files don't go in the system/library and instead go in the user/library those files will in no way affect or enable any other user.

It could also be that the permissions for said file whether an OSX file or one you installed are simply corrupt. Have you tried repairing permissions? I have found that the permissions for additional users as opposed to the sys/admin are more likely to become corrupt.
