I bought a Griffin PowerMate today and am really impressed with it. I love all the functions it has, and am programming it for my apps. I am wondering what other things the PowerMate can do besides it's normal functions.

I have found apps that make it pulse based on the current CPU load, but the novelty of that wears off after about 10 seconds.

What I would really like is an app that makes it pulse to the beat of the music playing in iTunes. Now that would be cool... :D

Cool.
If I had one, I'd make it beat to the music as well.
Might be able to do it via scripting.

I'm not sure if scripting would interface with the PowerMate

As I mentioned before, I have seen add-ons for the PowerMate as well as visualizer plugins for iTunes. Maybe one of them is open-source and I can see how they did it.

Well, I don't know much about programming so, you're on your own.
