I might be wrong but I think that PowerNap works on iMacs with Mavericks and a standard HD
I was away from my computer for 4h or so and when I came back my Time Machine backup was done when my mac was actually supposed to be in sleep. I also received all my Skype and mails notifications.
I checked the PowerNap options in the System Prefs. pane.
My mac and screen are configured to go in sleep after 15 minutes.

Anyone else noticing this?

I saw the option, haven't had time to test it. I thought it was SSD only, but I'm glad it's not because the iMac isn't user upgradable.

Yeah I noticed it since DP1 several months ago. PowerNap option also appeared on my Mac mini 2012 with HDD.

I guess the logic here is that for desktop computers, you won't move it around anyway, so it doesn't matter you're using an HDD or SSD. While for mobile devices, all-flash is required by PowerNap because SSD is immune to shocking when in operation.
