Powerpoint won't remove page numbers to PDF

View - Master - Handout Master.
This will bring up aview showing the master handout format.
At the bottom right will be a box with Page Number or something like that. If you remove that then go "View - Normal" to get back to the normal view. When you come to print the page number should not be there.
