So now that apple is moving to intel processors... what are the implications going to be? Is there going to be some simple translation method for software between PPC and x86? I was planning on soon buying a powerbook g4 and eyetv200. Should I now just wait for Powebook with a pentium M proc and for elgato to translate the eyetv software?

QUESTIONS QUESTIONS!

Well depends how desperately you want your new Powerbook. Steve said the transition starts next June and finishes 2007, so nobody really knows when the new Intel Powerbook's will come out, if I were youi'd just buy the Powerbook and elgato now, because otherwise you've got a long wait, and it will still work even when Apple does switch to Intel.

Indeed. Logic would suggest that the first things to get Intel would be the professional Powerbooks and Powermacs (Pentium M and D respectively), and gradually the rest of the consumer lines would go Intel.
