Practicing music instrument with iPhone?

Hi,

does anybody here use his iPhone or iPod Touch to practice a music instrument? I do and I wonder if Apple could make the music app better for those of us who want to play along some songs.
I wish there would be a way to select a part of the song and let the iPhone repeat it over and over. An other nice addition would be the possibility to play the sond with different speeds.
Apple could eighter add these to the existing music app, create a new one for musicians or allow third party apps to access the songs on the iPhone.
What do you think? Am I the only one who would like these features or are there others?

No, no, you misunderstand me. I'm not talking about those "music instrument" apps. I mean playing a real music instrument. I play drums and use my iPhone to listen to music and play covers of some songs.
