I was recently given a PCIe 7800GTX (not GT) with 256mb of RAM and if possible would like to flash it and pop it into my late 2005 G5.

After a bit of digging, I've found roms for the 512mb GTX and the 256mb GT, but am coming up short in trying to find a rom for a 256mb GTX. Additionally, I've found a bit of conflicting information regarding the usability of the 256mb GTX (modded rom too large for the card, card works only in 10.4, etc.).

That in mind, I was hoping someone might be able to 1) confirm is the card is usable on a G5 running 10.5, and if so 2) point me in the right direction of a usable rom.

Pretty sure you aren't able to use that card, the modified rom would have came from an FX4500 which only came in 512mb flavors.

In your ref you say you had a G5 Quad with 32GB memory. How is this possible?

It's sitting in my closet, haven't had it long.
8x4gb dimm

It sees 32gb installed but can't utilize all of it.
