I don't live far from an Apple store but I hate standing in lines like I did for the 5 and not guaranteeing myself the device I want. From past experience does anyone know if you can preorder and pick up your device at your local Apple Store? Thanks!
 
I don't believe they do this anymore.

The last time I've seen this option available was with iPhone 4, though I preorder and wait at home for my phone so I may have overlooked it during recent iphone preorders.
